To Pray or Not to Pray? This is the question. Often times we ask ourselves questions about praying. Like, when should I pray? Where should I pray? And how should I pray? These are the moments when your mind begins racing toward distractions of pressing matters, or what seems to be pressing matters, like a phone ringing, dishes needing to be washed, dinner needing to be cooked, a ringing doorbell and as we all know the list can go on and on.
So, that is why I have created a blog that will help you stay focused on your prayer time with God. God loves it when we commune with Him. Prayer is not just us talking to God but it is a time when He communes with us. He loves the fellowship and the time we spend with Him on a one-on-one basis. Neglecting to pray only adversely affects us. We are more than blessed after having had a session of prayer time with our abba Father. I feel a refreshing during and after prayer. I feel a release of heavy, weighty matters that pull and tug on the inside of me. I feel a renewing that occurs in my life and am renewed and readied for a victorious day. My spirit soars throughout the day and God reveals intimate and important details to me during our time of fellowship.
Prayer is a time to tell God how much you love Him, a time to thank Him for loving us. He is such a giving and forgiving God that He sent His only begotten Son to die for us. He gave everything to save us from eternal separation from Him. He must obviously value our relationship more highly than we can know in this realm.
Many people have fallen away from prayer. Busy with the cares of life they have become distracted, worrying about how this or that is going to get taken care of. Instead we are called to seek Him first and then all the things that we need will be added unto us. He is a faithful Father and watches over His own words to perform them. We don't have to worry about whether or not we can trust the promises of God, for if He said it, that will He also do.
Take time to very carefully consider your prayer life today. Give that time to God everyday, whether it be three times a day like Daniel did or whether it is 20 minutes a day. Start! The secret to success is in the beginning, the starting of a thing. Just start somewhere and have very specific prayers handy to pray. I use prayers from You Tube, the book Prayers That Avail Much, Prayers That Rout Demons, Command Your Morning Prayers by Dr. Trimm. There are so many wonderful options available today. Even if you don't know how to pray be encouraged and seek abba Father to lead you.
In this blog you will find plenty of resources and encouragement to pray. Check out The JBrigade for your one stop shop for all things prayer. Be blessed and stay prayed up!
