Free Prayer Calendar Pray for Your Pastor
Please Pray for Your Pastor?
Recently, I have become keenly aware that our leaders really, like never before, need the prayers of the body of Christ because, this is a critical time for the church at large. The pastor, our Shepard shields and protects the sheep when they pour into our lives to encourage us. They are driven by their passion for Christ to give to the body. Out of their increase in God that they pour into to us, to make sure that we have what we need in Christ and that we can continue to grow in the things of God.
The men and women of God take a stand across the globe to perfect the saints inspite of increasing dangers against the body. I often wonder why is the church still asleep? When will we realize the value of their labor and take a stand in prayer, before it is too late? We are fortunate to have pastors that keep US covered in prayer, and labor in the word to bring us a fresh and anointed revelation. Pastors have the heart of God and are guided by His hand to shepherd God's flock.
I think that many of us don't realize this but they can't run away from their responsibility, no more than they can run away from God when things get heated or uncomfortable. They take hits and still stand for us, so isn't only fair that we should also take hits and stand for them? There are times when our pastors want to throw in the towel and give up, just like me and you! Imagine how many times we have wanted to give up, and walk away. But our pastor prayed and we stayed and endured.
I know from my own personal experience what can happen when a pastor walks away. I have seen the fallout. It is not a pretty picture. The saints fall down like dominoes. So, here is the deal. Let's all consider this. Can we at least agree that our pastors are people too? They are not superhuman! They need us just like we need them. Can we consider for just a few minutes a day the value of our beloved pastors and cover them in prayer for at least 30 mins. a day? I know 30 minutes sounds like a lot of time spent in praying with/for one person but trust me in the long run it will pay off BIG TIME! In Matthew 26:40 Jesus asked his disciples, "Could you not pray with me for one hour?" So, you see thirty minutes is not a long time at all, it is less than what Jesus expected. To please Him the disciples could have stayed awoke long enough to pray with Jesus at His critical hour for at least ONE HOUR.
So, I touch and agree with you that you and I will begin and continue in a daily prayer life consecrated to God, to cover our pastors, to pray with and for them, for at least thirty minutes to an hour, starting today.
Important tips to consider when praying for your pastor:
1. Be very specific. Pray with a purpose (something that you want to see God do) to bless them.
3. Praying in tongues for your pastor is a good idea since a lot of times we don't know what to pray about.
4. Jot down things as your pastor speaks about concerns. You can use that list as a reference point later, when you pray.
5. Remember, there are basic concerns that all pastors need prayer for, and this is important because we really need to be as specific as possible. You don't want to pray a simple prayer that asks God to take care of these things. But instead, make a list and find scriptures that support the request before you petition heaven, reminding God of His promises.
6. Use a calendar, like the one I have placed the link to or create your own. Post it in your prayer closet for easy access.
7. Pick a specific time and place to pray. Make it quiet, peaceful and comfortable.
Herein lies the double fold blessing because, not only will your pastor be blessed by this but you will too. We are in God's army and we must take the fight to God.
For your
convenience, I have generated a calendar that includes some of the
basic prayers that are scriptural and should be prayed on a regular
basis.
